| BILBO - RESCUED JULY 2002 | |
| Bilbo has come to us at a fairly late stage in his rehabilitation having been looked after by Beatrice Brinkler at the Highland Wildlife Hospital at Ullapool. Beatrice had brought Bilbo a long way meaning he was a healthy check in weight of 18 kilos. It seems that he will whiz through the hospital as he is already eating fish from the bottom of his pen without human assistance. |
|
| He will be kept in isolation for two weeks while we check that he isn´t carrying any diseases. Initial Veterinary examinations suggest he is in very good health.
After his time in quarantine we will put him in a pen where he can be seen by the public. He will then move to the weaning pool when there is sufficient space. | |
| UPDATE 12th November 2002 | |
| Bilbo was ready for the main pools very quickly. He was fairly old when we first took him in and it took no time for him to start feeding in the weaning pool. He loves the space in the outdoor pools and zooms round in circles all day. That doesn´t mean he´s not eager when it´s feed time. He´s first at the ramp in our round pool, looking longingly at the feed bucket. He is really big now and is a very healthy pup. | |
