Tracey was found with multiple cuts on her flippers and mouth - so the team brought her in. The staff had to carry her 3 miles back to the van! Tracey is also at the middle of her moult - where her fur sheds and then regrows another one - so she looks rather different than the rest of the pups!
Update : 31st July 2011 - Tracey is already feeding one 1kg of whole herring by herself! It's clear that Tracey is going to go through her rehabilitation very quickly. As soon as Tracey's cuts heal nicely, she´ll be joining our 3 resident seals; Sally, Amber and Tyne!
|
Update : 3rd August 2011 - Tracey has been moved into our resident pool! Now all she needs to do is reach a weight of 30-35kg and then she is ready for release back into the wild.
Update: 28th October 2011 - Tracey along with the other six rescued seal pups are going to be released in November 2011!
They are fully rehabilitated and the animal care team are certain that it´s time for these little ones to go back to the wild.
