Pumpkin arrived on 18th November 2010

Pumpkin was rescued in Guernsey by the GSPCA and was transferred to the seal sanctuary on the 18th November 2010 for his next stage of rehabilitation and to learn to compete for fish with other seals. When Pumpkin arrived, he weighed 28 kilos.
Update: 27th November 2010 - Pumpkin is currently in the pup's rehabilitation pool with Wellington and Ugg. He is going through an early moult. Pumpkin is learning to feed himself and is on a diet of herring.

Update: 23rd December 2010 - Pumpkin is now in nursery pool 3.
His flipper tag number is 021(white).
Update: 1st January 2011 - Photo left of Pumpkin was taken in nursery pool 2 on 29th December 2010, he currently weighs 25kg. Click here to see further photos.
Update: 8th February 2011 - Pumpkin currently weighs 24 kilos and is in nursery pool 3.

Update: 6th March 2011 - Pumpkin has been moved back to the hospital due to a recurring urine infection. He is receiving a course of antibiotics but seems to be improving everyday.

Update: 5th June 2011 - Pumpkin is the last remaining pup from the 2010/11 pup rescue season, but he will hopefully be released back into the wild very soon. Pumpkin is currently in nursery pool 1 recovering from a persistent urine infection.
