| Vivienne (Leigh) - Arrived on 17th December 2005 | |
 | Vivienne, a grey seal pup, was rescued from Thurso by British Divers Marine Life Rescue; she was another victim of the terrible storms that hit our shores this winter. On arrival at the centre, she weighed 18kg and was approximately 4-5 weeks old. |
|
Vivienne is a very smart pup and was feeding for herself when she arrived at the nursery. She was also the most aggressive pup in the nursery and would not tolerate anyone in her pen. She has calmed down and accepts the animal care team as we are the fish providers. Vivienne is a greedy pup who is gaining weight steadily and will soon move outside to the big pools to perfect the graceful art of swimming before her release back to the wild. |
| UPDATE: January 2006 Vivienne has just moved outside to the main pools. She is zipping through the rehabilitation process and hardly touching the sides! She arrived on the 17th of December 2005. She spent Christmas in the nursery where she was fairly aggressive initially which calmed to a feisty playfulness. She moved in to the weaning pool on the 15th of January 2006 and eight days later she is out to the adult pools to complete gaining weight. Get Ready For Release. |
| UPDATE: May 2006 Vivienne was released back into the wild earlier this month to the joy of the Animal Care Team. |
