| SQUIRT - Arrived 6th July 2004
| Squirt was found on a beach on North Uist and was very small. At just over a week old, he had probably spent a little while with his mother but they then became separated. It is quite common for us to get pups brought in who have been separated from their mother at this time of year and it can be for a number of reasons.
People are sadly often the reason for pups being abandoned, usually because the human smell on a pup will scare the mother away. Pups are also separated from their mothers in bad weather, or they can simply wander away while the mother is away feeding.
Squirt was tube fed on a special milk diet called Multi Milk until he was about two weeks old. He was then weaned onto fish and as soon as he learns to feed for himself, he will be moved to the weaning pool. Once he has gained 20kg in weight he will be moved to our outdoor pools where he will get a chance to interact with our Adult Seals before his release.

| Updated 31st August 2004
| Squirt is now enjoying life in our outdoor pools. He moved out on Tuesday the 31st of August 2004 and seemed overwhelmed by the new space. It took him only a moment to get his nerve and take the plunge with Lorne and Gigha. He appears to be feeding very well and plays around with Jura and Coral. However, he is still very attentive at feed times when he fixes you with a stare that just begs for more and more fish.

| Squirt is up to his target release weight of 35kgs. His main focus in life is to eat, as much as possible, and we can safely say that he has perfected this, he is a happy pup as always.
