LEDI
Ledi, rescued pup Ledi was rescued on the 27th December at Castle May near Harrow. She was the oldest pup to arrive at our facilities this year. Having already moulted to her adult coat she was around 4½ weeks old. Because she was older Ledi was quite aggressive towards humans and found it difficult to accept our help at feed times. Luckily she is a very intelligent pup and hand fed within 2 days! She now feeds from her pen floor and is extremely quick at finishing off a meal.
Ledi was held in our isolation unit for a long period as she had a respiratory infection similar to kennel cough in dogs. To avoid passing this infection on to the other pups we kept her separate until she fully recovered. Despite this infection Ledi grew well and appeared fit and healthy. After a second sample confirmed that she was clear of infection we were able to move Ledi to the weaning pool where she ate from the water immediately. She is now able to zoom on in her rehabilitation and move to the outdoor pools with Lorne, Gigha and Lora.
