The Scottish SEA LIFE Sanctuary
The Scottish SEA LIFE Sanctuary
The original name of the tourist attraction was SEA LIFE Centre, Barcaldine in Oban. It was the first SEA LIFE Centre in the UK. It opened in 1979 and sadly almost 40 years later closed on 31st October 2018.

The Scottish SEA LIFE Sanctuary opened a window into a watery wonderland . . .teeming with amazing sea creatures of astonishing variety. Nestled amidst the pine trees on the shores of picturesque Loch Creran, the Centre had combined a spectacular aquarium with a busy rescue and rehabilitation facility for both common and grey seal pups.
