Rescued from : Mundesley beach

Age at Rescue : Approx. 5 months old

Condition : This pup was found to be suffering from lung worms.
Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary
Madeleine Upon arrival at the Sea Life Sanctuary, Kirsty, one of the Animal Care Team, immediately put the pup into one of the special isolation cubicle in the refurbished seal hospital, and later that day the pup had a full veterinary check.
On closer inspection, the staff noticed that she had a few small wounds to her rear flippers, but more importantly she had a case of lung worm which needed to be treated.

Madeleine Update - 10th November 2014 : Madeleine has since received her medication and is well on her way to a full recovery. Since being at the Sanctuary, she has found a new love for fish and is eating really well! Madeleine will be moved to the outside seal pool shortly to learn how to compete for fish with the residents.

Update - 4th January 2015 : Madeleine is now in the hospital´s weaning pool.

Update - 15th March 2015 : Madeleine has completed her rehabilitation and was released back into the wild in early March 2015.
