Vixen, is the only male seal pup in the hospital at the moment!, was rescued from Wells by volunteer Louise on 25th January 2016, he had two open abscesses on his back, and other wounds on his flippers and body. These were badly infected and the dedicated Animal Care Team have worked around the clock to clean these up.
After being checked over by the Vet, Vixen was put on a drip and given a course of antibiotics.

Update - 31st January 2016 : Vixen has recovered faster than the team has ever seen before! He´s put on 3 kilos since arrival, and is looking a lot healthier today! The Animal Care Team are hoping that he will carry on putting on weight, so he can be returned to the wild with the other rescued seal pups.
Update - 27th February 2016 : Vixen has sadly passed away; it is always very sad when one of the rescued pups dies but sometimes these little ones just don´t have enough anti-bodies and strength in them to pull through, despite the best efforts of all the staff at Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary.
