Roquefort was rescued on 1st August 2022 Roquefort, common seal pup, was rescued on 1st August 2022 from Old Hunstanton beach after a member of the public reported her. The Animal Care Team responded to this call and went to assess the condition of the seal, where she was found severely dehydrated, underweight, and with several lesions in her mouth. We estimate that at the time of her rescue, she is roughly a monthly old! Update - 9th August 2022 : Roquefort is progressing well and weighs 9.5kg. When she first arrived in the seal hospital, Roquefort weighed 8kg. The photos above of Roquefort were taken on 8th August 2022. Click here or on the photos above to see a larger version of them. Update - 24th August 2022 : Roquefort unfortunately was a very poorly pup and was not in the hospital for very long. It is always very sad when one of the rescued pups dies but sometimes these little ones just don´t have enough antibodies and strength in them to pull through, despite the best efforts of all the amazing and dedicated staff at Hunstanton SEA LIFE.
