Rainbow, female common seal pup, was found at Burnham Ovary Staithe on 22nd July 2015 by a member of the public. She had a very sore and swollen muzzles as a result of infections in her mouth and receiving treatment. Weighed 13.5kgs upon arrival at the seal hospital. With some TLC from the Animal Care Team, Rainbow should be feeling much better in no time! Update - 31st July 2015 : Rainbow is already hand feeding well on whole herring. Update - 11th August 2015 : Rainbow is currently in the hospital pen number 5. This photo left was taken on 9th August 2015, Click here to see a larger photo of this. Update - 21st August 2015 : Rainbow sadly passed away on 17th August 2015. It is always very sad when one of the rescued pups dies but sometimes these little ones just don´t have enough antibodies and strength in them to pull through, despite the best efforts of all the staff at Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary.
