Professor Oak was rescued on 25th November 2016

This little common seal pup was rescued from Eccles on Sea after being spotted on the same stretch of beach for two days in a row.
After a speedy relay by volunteers, Steph and David, he was checked in at the sanctuary on 25th November 2016.

Professor Oak is around 2 - 3 months old but is very underweight at only 13kgs! He also has a nasty case of lungworm but is otherwise quite well.
He has lots of fight in him so the Animal Care team are hopeful he will respond well to treatment and make a speedy recovery.

Update - 10th December 2016 : Professor Oak has sadly passed away; it is always very sad when one of the rescued pups dies but sometimes these little ones just don´t have enough anti-bodies and strength in them to pull through, despite the best efforts of all the staff at Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary.
