Mario was rescued on 26th May 2016

Mario, first common seal pup of the season, was rescued on 26th May 2016 after being found alone and separated from his mum at the Old Hunstanton beach.
At four days old he arrived dehydrated and underweight (weighing 11kgs) but the amazing Animal Care Team are feeding him every 4 hours (even through the night!)

It´s important to remember, if you find a baby seal alone on the beach stand back and watch to see if mum is in the water. If you can´t see mum or if the pup looks unwell please call the Sanctuary on 01485 533576 and Specialists will come out and assess it. Please do not try and put the seal back in the water, they need to rest on land, especially when they are very small.
It is also important to keep dogs and children away from the seals as they can have a nasty bite.
