Madonna was rescued on 19th June 2019
Madonna, female common seal pup, was rescued on 19th June 2019 from King´s Lynn after being separated from her mum.

She was found at 5 days old and would not survive on her own. Seals should feed for 3-4 weeks on mum´s milk before being weaned and taught to catch her own fish.

Madonna Update - 15th July 2019 : Madonna is doing really well, she´s hand feeding her fish now so she will progress to the pup pool. She´s putting on weight nicely so shouldn´t be too long before this pup is returned back into the wild!

Madonna Update - 17th September 2019 : Madonna and another seal pup named Prince were released back into The Wash at Hunstanton today.

Madonna, the smaller of the two seal pups but clearly the bolder, led the way into the choppy waves as Prince looked on. Prince couldn´t just wait while his friend explored the surf, though, and he soon lolloped off gently after her.
Good luck little ones. It is always sad to see these seal pups but the Animal Care team know they have done everything they can to make this return to the wild possible.
