Flake was rescued on 19th June 2015
Flake, male common seal pup, was rescued on 19th June 2015 from Snettisham beach after being reported by concerned members of the public.

The pup was found exhausted and separated from his mum, alone on the beach along with another seal pup. These two pups found each other after hearing each other calling for their mums.

Flake is the biggest pup of the season so far weighing 13kgs.

Flake Update - 30th June 2015 : Flake is currently in the hospital´s pen number 5.

Flake is now eating herring with a little help and encouragement from the Animal Care Team.

Update - 16th July 2015 : Here is the latest photo of Flake taken on 12th July 2015, he is still in the hospital´s pen number 5 and shares this with another rescued seal pup named Mr Whippy. Flake now weighs 15kgs. Click here to see a larger photo of this.

Update - 31st July 2015 : Flake has been moved to the outside main resident seal pool to learn how to compete for fish with the other seals. He currently weighs 19kg.

Pups in the outside resident seals enclosure Update - 11th August 2015 : Flake is in the outside resident seals pool with the other rescued seal pups, Solero, Cornetto, Magnum, Haribo, Twister and Nobbly Bobbly, for their final stage of rehabilitation.

Flake´s flipper tag number is 79 (yellow).

Update - 20th October 2015 : Flake along with Twister, Cornetto, Magnum, Solero, Nobbly Bobbly and Haribo were released back to the wild on 19th October 2015 at Snettisham beach.

Flake´s release weight is 32kgs.
