Camembert was rescued on 22nd June 2022
Camembert, approx. one week old female common seal pup, was rescued on the 22nd of June 2022 from Snettisham beach after a member of the public reported her. The Animal Care Team responded to this call and went to assess the condition of the seal, where she was found severely dehydrated and underweight. As Camembert was on her own, the animal care team can also decipher that she had been separated from her mum.
Update - 6th July 2022 : Camembert is currently being well cared for by the specialist animal care team and is so far showing positive signs. She currently weighs 10.7kg, when she first arrived in the seal hospital, she weighed 9.8kg and was very skinny for her age. As she progresses in her rehabilitation, she will eventually move to the brand new pup pool which is outside and next to the resident seal pool.
