Calippo, male common seal pup, was rescued on 18th June 2015 from Snettisham beach after being reported by concerned members of the public. The pup was found exhausted and separated from his mum, alone on the beach along with another seal pup. These two pups found each other after hearing each other calling for their mums. Calippo weighed 10kgs. Update - 30th June 2015 : Calippo is currently in the hospital´s pen number 2. Calippo is now eating herring with a little help and encouragement from the Animal Care Team. Update - 16th July 2015 : Here is the latest photo of Calippo taken on 12th July 2015, he is still in the hospital´s pen number 2 and shares this with another rescued seal pup named Tutti Frutti. Update - 31st July 2015 : Calippo is currently in the hospital´s swim/weaning pool with two other rescued seal pups, Tutti Frutti and Maxibon. Calippo currently weighs 18kg. Update - 27th October 2015 : Calippo currently weighs 28kgs and is still in the hospital figuring out how to eat a little better but it will not be too long before he is outside with the rest of the seal pups. His flipper tag number is 77 (yellow). Update - 19th November 2015 : Calippo is in the swim/weaning pool of the main hospital with Tornado and Tyne´s pup, he will be moved outside to the seal pool in the next few weeks. Update - 14th December 2015 : Calippo has been moved to the outside main seal enclosure for his final stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with the other seals before he is returned to the wild in the next month or so. Update - 9th January 2016 : Calippo along with another seal pup named Mini Milk were released back into the wild on 5th January 2016. He weighed 31kgs.
