A grey seal pup was picked up by Kieran and Nathan, members of the Sanctuary´s staff, around 7.30pm on 14th March 2015 from Mundesley beach near Cromer.
The pup has a punctured eye possibly from an adult grey seal bite.
She is currently being treated in the seal hospital by the animal care team and has been named Artemis.

An update photo of Artemis with the damaged eye rescued from Mundesley last week. She´s still quite unwell but is showing lots of good signs.

Update - 9th June 2015 : Artemis is currently in the hospital´s pen and currently weighs about 50kgs. She has a problem with her eye which the vet is keeping observing.

Update - 31st July 2015 : On 30th July 2015, two Awesome vets John and Steve performed an amazing operation on Artemis. His badly damaged eye had to removed by the vets.
Artemis will spend the next couple of weeks recuperating at the sanctuary before he is released back into the wild.

Update - 11th August 2015 : One week after Artemis´s operation, his eye is looking much better. He is currently sharing the hospital´s large weaning pool with another rescued grey seal pup named Hemera.

Update - 20th September 2015 : Artemis along with Hemera were released back to the wild on 19th September 2015 at Snettisham beach. Artemis weighed 52kgs. Click here to watch a video of the release.
