DINKY, HOOMPAH AND WINTER

Dinky was rescued from Wexford in Ireland on the 29th of November 2004 by the Irish Seal Sanctuary.

Hoompah was rescued on the 23rd of November 2004 from Wicklow in Ireland, also by the Irish Seal Sanctuary.

Dinky and Hoompah were transferred to RSPCA West Hatch in December 2004 and finally transferred to Gweek on the 16th of February 2005 for their final stages of rehabilitation.

Winter was rescued from Porthtowan on the 29th of December 2004 by the RSPCA. Unfortunately, the seal sanctuary's hospital was full at the time of her rescue so she was rehabilitated by RSPCA West Hatch.

All three seals are close to release weight and all have now recovered from seal pox. On arrival all three seals were flipper tagged and wormed ready for release.
Update 11th May 2005
Winter was released back into the wild near Port Isaac along with Dagger on the 6th of May 2005.
Hoompah and Dinky are nearly ready and will be released during the next couple of weeks.
Update 20th May 2005
Hoompah and Dinky along with Breezie were released on Wednesday 18th of May 2005 at Port Gaverne. Dinky and Breezie (both girls) came straight out the trailer and in to the water, Hoompah had a few problems due to his weight and decided he wasn’t quite ready to take the plunge, and played in the shallows for a while before going off.
