St Eia was rescued on 5th November 2014
St Eia, 21 week old female grey seal pup, was rescued by Tim Bain and Dave Jarvis, members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team from the beach at Porthmeor in St Ives on 5th November 2014.

The pup was found with severe swelling on both front flippers, and refusing to use her right front flipper at all.

Dave Jarvis transported the pup to the Seal Sanctuary, upon arrival the pup was put into one of isolation pen of the hospital and a full clinical assessment was carried out by members of the animal care team. One of the vets from Head & Head was called to check the pup´s swollen flippers.

Update - 17th November 2014 : St Eia did not stay long in the hospital, as when she arrived at the Seal Sanctuary, she weighed 27kgs. She is now in the outside nursery pool with Moomin.

Update - 28th November 2014 : St Eia´s flipper tag number is 045.
St Eia - Photo taken on 28th December 2014 Update - 1st January 2015 : St Eia is in the convalescent pool and learning how to compete for fish with the other rescued seal pups and the resident seals.

Update - 14th February 2015 : St Eia was released back into the wild along with Jubilee, Gamora, Groot, Daffy and Phoenix on 12th February 2015 at Gwithian.
