Sponge Bobby was rescued on 25th November 2014
Sponge Bobby, 3-4 week old female grey seal pup, was rescued from the beach at Widemouth Bay on 25th November 2014 by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

She was found with various wounds to her body.

Spongebobby Update - 1st January 2015 : Sponge Bobby is now in the outside pools for her next stage of rehabilitation.

Her flipper tag number is 54 (yellow).

Update - 17th March 2015 : Sponge Bobby was released back into the wild along with Beast, Hong Kong Phooey and Iron Man on 12th March 2015.

Update - 19th April 2015 : It is with great sadness that Sponge Bobby was found dead on a beach near Bournemouth on 13th April 2015 with serious facial injuries - it is thought she was struck by a jet ski.   Click here to read about this sad news!
