Hong Kong Phooey was rescued on 5th December 2014
Hong Kong Phooey, a 6 week old male grey seal pup, was rescued by Dan, a member of the Animal Care Team and Richard, a member of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team, from the beach at Cott Valley near St Just on 5th December 2014.

The pup was found to be malnourished with a few puncture wounds to his body.

Siobhan said "I found him at Cott Valley and was so impressed with how quick and efficient both the Seal Sanctuary & Richard from British Divers were!"

Update - 1st January 2015 : Phooey has been moved from the hospital and is now in the convalescent pool for his next stage of rehabilitation and learning how to compete for fish with the other rescued seal pups and the resident seals.

His flipper tag number is 57 (yellow).

Seal Release - 12th March 2015 Update - 17th March 2015 : Hong Kong Phooey was released back into the wild along with Spongebobby, Beast and Iron Man on 12th March 2015.
