Peter was rescued on 23rd January 2012
On the 23rd January 2012 we received a call about a pup at Lizard Point, it´s condition meant that it had to be brought back to the Sanctuary. The pup was put into isolation pen number 1 and a clinical assessment revealed it to be around 10 weeks old, malnourished at 15 kilos with an edema to right eye, ruckley breathing and yellow discharge from nose.

It also had minor puncture wound to flippers which were infected. As with all patients, a course of antibiotics were started. The pup is a little boy and has been named Peter.

Update: 28th January 2012 - Peter is in the main hospital pen number 2.
Update: 9th February 2012 - Peter has now been moved to the outside nursery pool number 2 with Tiny Tim
for his next stage of rehabilitation.

Update: 12th February 2012 - The animal care team are sad to report that Peter had passed away on 11th February 2012,
a post-mortem to be carried out.
