Paul Russell was rescued on 1st January 2012
We received a call about a seal pup on the slipway at Lamorna Cove and Dan (a member of the animal care team on a day off) was asked to go and take a look. The condition of the pup was very poor and it was decided it needed to come in.

Back at the Sanctuary a full clinical assessment was carried out on the pup. The pup was estimated to be around 6 weeks old, male and weighed in at 13 kilos. He was very malnourished with puncture wounds to his rear left flippers, but also with a small staining to left eye which will be monitored during his stay.
This pup has been named Paul Russell.
