| PACIFIC - Arrived on 11th March 2006 |
| We received a call from the RSPCA on the Island of Guernsey about a pup that might need to be transported to the Seal Sanctuary for rehabilitation.
On the 11th March 2006 the pup who was called Pacific, was flown over to Newquay airport, where it was picked up by the National Seal Sanctuary staff and brought back to the hospital here at Gweek. Pacific, who is a little boy, weighed in at 21.5 kilos and was around 8 weeks old. He spent around 7 days in isolation, here we took a blood sample. The results came back clear and Pacific was transferred down to the nursery pools to continue rehabilitation. |

![]() | Update: 30th June 2009 - Lee Rogers went snorkeling the other day around Cape Cornwall and came across a seal
with a yellow tag. Lee said at first the seal was shy then within half an hour, it was nuzzling his fins! Lee sent us some of the photos of the seal, which we forwarded onto Sue Sayer, of the Cornwall Seal Group, so she could identify it. Sue said ″We have to find at least 5 matching marker patterns on the seal before we can confirm an ID″. Click here to see a selection of Lee's photos. |
| Update: 30th May 2012 - Pacific has been spotted many times at a local haul-out along the north coast of Cornwall by members of the Cornwall Seal Group*. Here is Pacific´s visit records:- |
