While the rest of the country is complaining about the sunshine, two residents at the National Seal Sanctuary, Gweek are taking full advantage.
The Sanctuary´s resident short clawed otters Bamboo and Thai have decided to take full advantage of the weather, by doing a little redecorating.
Tamara and Bamboo, with the help of his sister Thai have moved the rocks around their enclosure so they are now positioned to catch the morning ray´s of sunshine. By the time lunch is served by the Animal Care Team, the rocks have warmed up just enough for their afternoon siesta.
"This is not the first time that our Otters have decided a little redecoration is in order" said Senior Animal Care Assistant Tamara Cooper. "Whenever we put new plants or try to change the features in the enclosures, you can guarantee these two will change it all by the next day."
Some plants and features don´t even last a day and will be destroyed in a few hours, other plants have their leaves stripped to make bedding. Both Otters seem to enjoy this new feature and hopefully the sun will keep shining so they can make the most of their new sun bed.
