Walk for Whales
The Scottish SEA LIFE Sanctuary held their annual Walk for Whales on 8th July 2012. Collage of Walk for Whales Photos
The event was very successful with over 30 people turning up for the Walk for Whales. Craig Connor, the Attraction´s Manager, would like to thank everyone who participated.

Strip the Willow
Strip the Willow A couple of the centre´s team, including Selkie the Seal, took part in the world record attempt for the most
people dancing to 'Strip the willow' at any one time in Oban. Unfortunately they fell short by 40 people.

Interesting Fact
The longhorn cowfish is a variety of boxfish, recognizable by it´s long horns that protrude from the front of it´s head, rather like those of a cow or bull. They are a resident of the Indo-Pacific region and can grow up to 20 inches long. Adults are reef fish, often solitary and territorial, live around sand or rubble bottom up to a depth of 50m.

They are omnivorous, feeding upon benthic algae, various mircoorganisms and foraminiferans that it strains from sediments, sponges, polychaete worms from sand flats, mollusks, small fish, able to feed on benthic invertrates by blowing jets of water into the sandy substrate. Why not visit the Sanctuary to see these cheeky little characters!
