Bagel arrived on 28th June 2006

Bagel was another tiny pup when he came in and it all looked a bit uncertain for the little one. The poor thing was a bag of bones when he came in on the 28th of June 2006 weighing just 6.6kg. He was found on the Isle of South Uist and the ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne kindly transported him over to Oban port for us. After his initial assessment he was given fluids for 24 hours due to him being so dehydrated and then went onto being given a milk substitute every 4 hours. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteer at the time, Franzi, he progressed well and has been a well natured pup throughout his time here.
UPDATE: October 2006
At the last weighing session on the 17th October 2006, Bagel came in at 31kg and is on the final preparation for release in the next few weeks!
UPDATE: 6th November 2006
Bagel weighed in at 32kgs so was good to be released. There is a nice story to tell here, Franzi the German volunteer, who looked after him so well has returned to the Scottish SEA LIFE Sanctuary just in time to see Bagel released. Tears were shed when he headed off into the wilderness.
Bagel was released back into the wild on 1st of November 2006.
