MAY was rescued on 27th November 2000
May was rescued from Crantock Bay, Newquay on the 27th November 2000. She was discovered huddled at the top of the beach with both of her eyes tightly closed. Ulcers were revealed in both eyes and she has small puncture wounds on all of her flippers. Her breathing sounded very harsh and wet, a clear indication of lungworms. This suspicion was later confirmed and May has been treated for this common form of parasite.

May began to eat fish for herself and with intensive eye therapy she was soon moved outside with other pups for company.
