Magneto was rescued on 2nd December 2014
Magneto, 6 week old male grey seal pup, was rescued from the beach at Porthgwidden in St Ives on the 2nd December 2014 by Richard Morton, member of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

Richard took the pup by car and met Dave Jarvis of BDMLR in the car park at Wyvale Garden Centre at Lelant where Dave transferred the pup into his car and drove to the Seal Sanctuary.

The pup was found to be malnourished.
Magneto Update - 1st January 2015 : Magneto is now the nursery pool for his next stage of rehabilitation.

His flipper tag number is 59 (yellow).

Update - 28th January 2015 : Magneto was released back into the wild along with Betty Boop, Moomin, Olive and Wolverine on 26th January 2015 at Gwithian.
