Lassie arrived on 24th June 2009
Lassie, a female common seal, was rescued on 24th June 2009 from Heacham beach. She weighed 11kg upon arrival and was approximately 1-2 weeks old. She was found on her own with no sign of her mum.

Lassie is quite a boisterous little seal, who doesn't like us to get too close, she tries to bite and scratch the animal care team when they take her temperature.

Lassie Lassie has been weaned off milk but has not learnt how to feed on fish yet - we are still having to force feed her!!

Hopefully within the next few weeks she will learn to feed for herself.
Update: 17th September 2009 - Lassie was moved out of the hospital and into the main pool on 2nd September 2009 - Now weighs over 20kg.

Update: 30th November 2009 - Lassie along with the other 2 rescued pups, Einstein and Flipper, are all fine and ready to be released back into the wild shortly.
