Well it looks like the Common Seal pupping season is well underway, meet the second arrival of the summer of 2015, Solero! She was very lucky to have been spotted by a concerned bird watcher, as she was a long way from well-visited areas.
The pup was found separated from her mum and alone on the mud flats near Heacham Dam at Snettisham beach.

Solero is now doing well in the seal hospital and with a little help from the wonderful Animal Care Team will be fighting fit before long.
Update - 30th June 2015 : Solero is currently in the hospital´s pen number 4. She is eating for herself on whole herring!

Update - 16th July 2015 : Here is the latest photo of Solero taken on 12th July 2015, she is still in the hospital´s pen number 4 and shares this with another rescued seal pup named Haribo. Solero now weighs 14kgs.

Update - 31st July 2015 : Solero has been moved to the outside main resident seal pool to learn how to compete for fish with the other seals. She currently weighs 22kg.

Update - 11th August 2015 : Solero is in the outside resident seal pool with the other rescued seal pups, Magnum, Cornetto, Twister, Haribo, Flake and Nobbly Bobbly, for their final stage of rehabilitation.
Solero´s flipper tag number is 73 (yellow).

Update - 20th October 2015 : Solero along with Magnum, Haribo, Twister, Cornetto, Nobbly Bobbly and Flake were released back to the wild on 19th October 2015 at Snettisham beach.
Solero´s release weight is 33kgs.
