Pop Up Pirate was rescued on 27th December 2015
Pop Up Pirate, approx. 6-8 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on 27th December 2015 from Porthgwidden beach in St Ives by Dave & Lesley Jarvis, members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

Pop Up Pirate The pup was found to be severely underweight at only 14kgs, was exhausted and had a small puncture wound to his muzzle.

Pop Up Pirate had lost a lot of weight since he was weaned by his mother and have found it hard to feed for himself in the wild.

Update - 25th February 2016 : Pop Up Pirate is in the convalescent pool for his final stage of rehabilitation and learning how to compete for fish during feeding time with the resident adult seals and rescued seal pups.
Update - 17th May 2016 : Pop up Pirate along with Pontoon, Marbles, Connect 4 and Screwball Scramble were released back into the wild on 16th May 2016 at Gwithian.

Pop up Pirate´s flipper tag number is 82 (blue).
