Padmé was rescued on 18th January 2017
Padmé, female grey seal pup, was rescued on 18th January 2017 from Bridlington in Yorkshire. Due to the lack of space at SEA LIFE Scarborough, she was relayed by car to Hunstanton SEA LIFE where Padmé spend the rest of her rehabilitation.

As a fully weaned pup, the Animal Care team are feeding Padmé whole herring and encouraging her to feed for herself.

Padme Update - 21st January 2017 : Once Padmé is a little bit bigger she will move to the outdoor pool where she will get used to deeper water and being around bigger seals again. It will be just a matter of time until she reaches the weight of 40kgs and can be released back into the wild.

Update - 21st February 2017 : Padmé is still in the indoor hospital swim pool and sharing this with another rescued seal pup named Rey.

Padme Update - 16th April 2017 : Padmé loves to worry the visitors by wedging herself in between the water pipes in the corner of the outside seal enclosure. The staff reassure the concerned visitors that Padmé is alright.

Padmé´s flipper tag number is 394 (white).

Update - 29th April 2017 : Padmé is enjoying the last few hours as the pool is being drained of water before she is released back to the wild.

Seal Release - 26th April 2017 Update - 29th April 2017 : Padmé along Pao, Senator Bail and Jar Jar Binks have completed their rehabilitation and were released back into the wild on 26th April 2017 on the beach at the front of Hunstanton SEA LIFE.

Padmé´s release weight 37kgs.
