Nick was rescued on 2nd January 2018
Nick, 5 weeks old male seal pup, was rescued on 2nd January 2018 from Spit beach, St Austell by some members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

This pup had an abscess to his flipper.

The pup was taken and treated with antibiotics at one of BDMLR´s holding facilities until a hospital pen became available at Gweek on 10th January 2018.
Nick Update - 25th February 2018 : Nick was moved to the outside nursery pools on 12th February 2018, unfortunately he was bitten by another seal so was given a course of antibiotics to fight infection. As you can see from the photo, he has a swollen jaw.

Nick´s flipper tag number is 351 (green).

Update - 28th March 2018 : Nick is still in the nursery pool. His swollen jaw is much better now.

Nick Update - 29th April 2018 : Nick is currently in the convalescent pool for his final stage of rehabilitation. He just needs to put on a bit more weight before he is returned back into the wild soon.

Update - 9th May 2018 : Nick along with Geoffrey, Morwenna, Singer and Fortune, were released back into the wild on 8th May 2018 at Dollar Cove beach.
