| Beach Clean on 17th June 2018
Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary would like to say "A BIG thank you" to everyone who assisted in the beach clean at Old Hunstanton on 17th June 2018.
The rubbish has now been weighed and the Sanctuary is pleased to announce that a whopping 43kgs of rubbish was collected.

Rescued Seal Pups for 2018
|
The common seal rescue season started earlier this month, Mosh on 13th June 2018, Freddie on 15th June 2018, Thriller on 17th June 2018, Macarena and Agadoo on 23rd June 2018, Hula on 27th June 2018, Floss, Jiva and Vogue on 29th June 2018, Ballet and Morris on 30th June 2018 have arrived at the seal hospital. All so cute! Please spare a thought for the Animal Care Team who are working shifts around the clock to feed these pups day and night.
Members of the Animal Care Team have been known to shed a few tears when they wave cheerio to the rescued seal pups, now looking healthy with lots of energy, ready to enjoy a good life back in the wild. This month they said goodbye to Apparate who was returned to the wild on 18th June 2018, followed by Finestra and Incendio on 20th June 2018. Good luck little ones.

If you find a Seal in the Wild
|
|
If you should discover a seal pup that seems to be in distress, or is alone, what you do next could mean the difference between life and death for the animal.
Please...DO keep your distance; Do Not attempt to handle the pup; Do Not attempt to put the pup in the sea; Do Not ignore the situation;

The Animal Care Team are on call around the clock to race to the rescue of seal pups in trouble anywhere around the coast.
Back at the Sanctuary, pups receive expert veterinary care and are gradually weaned from a liquid diet to whole fish in the purpose built hospital.
Then it´s to the outdoor pools to gain weight and build strength and stamina ready to resume life in the wild.

What to do if you find a dead seal on beach!
If you come across a dead seal, the advice is not to touch or go near it, please call West Norfolk council on 01553 616200.
If you find a stranded living seal, please call the SEA LIFE Sanctuary on 01485 533576.
