Beach Clean Day - 8th June 2019
Beach clean day Sea Life Hunstanton hosted a beach clean along Old Hunstanton Beach on the 8th June 2019 for World Oceans Day. Volunteers joined Sea Life staff and helped to protect these important coastal marine habitats.

Some of the items we found were a flip-flop, a small frisbee, discarded dog poo bags, sweet wrappers, fishing netting, wet wipes and many other items.
Despite the weather, which was a mixture of rain and hailstones, the volunteers really enjoyed themselves. Some of the volunteers had travelled by car over 2 hours to be at the beach clean.

The children felt they had made a difference.

Rescued Seal Pups for 2019
The photos below of Jonny, Salem, Hedwig and Seamus were taken on 8th June 2019.
Say hello to this very cute common seal pup, his name is Prince, the first rescued common seal pup of the 2019 season, was found on 27th May 2019 on Titchwell beach after being abandoned by his mum. He was found at 3 days old but weighing only 6kgs so he is extremely underweight. Common seals are usually born at 10kgs.

The white fluffy coat you can see should have been shed prior to birth so this indicates that Prince was born prematurely.
