Meet "Muddy", a female Ringed Seal, who was rescued from Plymouth harbour on 4th September 2016.

The reason Muddy is a special rescue is due to the fact her species is commonly found in the Arctic, and she is the first Ringed Seal the Cornish Seal Sanctuary have ever had.

As you can see, she looks very different to the usual rescued pups.   Click here to read more about this seal.

Update - 2nd October 2016 : Muddy is now recovering in the outside rehabiliation pool. The Animal Care Team still cannot understand why this approximately year old Ringed Seal, who had gone through her first moult, ended up along the coast in the West Country. The question is are there other Ringed Seal in the area?
