Icy was rescued on 14th September 2016
Icy, 14 weeks old female common seal pup, was rescued on 14th September 2016 from Porthmellon, Mevagissey.

The pup was found to be malnourished and had infected wounds on her umbilicus and tail.
Icy
Icy Update - 2nd October 2016 : Icy is still in the hospital until her wounds are healed and puts on a few more kilograms, she will be moved to the outside pool for the next stage of the rehabilitation. In the meantime, Icy is enjoying having water in her pen and learning to eat in the pool. She currently weighs 14kgs.

Update - 20th November 2016 : Icy is now in the convalescent pool putting on lots of weight before she is released back to the wild in the next month or so.

Icy´s flipper tag number is 43 (green).

Icy
Seal Release on 25th November 2016 Update - 26th November 2016 : Icy along with four grey seal pups, Orca, Seal, Manatee and Loris, were all released back to the wild at Gwithian Beach on 25th November 2016.

Update - 24th January 2017 : Icy has been seen in the wild several times hauled out in estuaries along the North coast of Cornwall on 8th, 21st and 22nd January 2017.
