Two Mute Swans in the Helford Estuary on the bank near the Seal Sanctuary are waiting for the sounds of pitter-patter of tiny web feet.

Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) is a very familiar bird with a wingspan of up to 2metres! There are at least two pairs that breed each year in the Gweek area - If you are visiting in summer and autumn, please keep an eye out as you may see the grey/brown cygnets ! Status: common - the only year round resident swan in Britain.
