Enys was rescued on 17th October 2017
Enys, 3 weeks old female seal pup, was rescued on 17th October 2017 from the Isle of Scilly.

She was found malnourished with wounds to nose and front flippers. She is a very skinny small pup only weighing 11kg. The pup was transported via plane and car to the Seal Sanctuary´s hospital.

Update - 22nd October 2017 : Enys is currently on medication for a couple of minor wounds and in the isolation pen of the hospital.

Update - 30th October 2017 : Enys is steadily getting brighter and although still on medication, her wounds are healing nicely.
Enys Update - 1st January 2018 : Enys was moved back into the nursery pool after spending some time in the convalescent pool.

Enys´s flipper ID tag number is 316 (green).

Enys Update - 29th March 2018 : Enys was moved back into the hospital as she recently had a poorly stomach in the nursery pools and the Animal Care team want to keep a closer eye on Enys in the hospital. Hopefully Enys will feel better soon and able to re-join her friends in the outside pools. She currently weighs 19kgs.

Update - 29th April 2018 : Enys is now back into the outside nursery pool number 1, it will not be too long before she has completed her rehabilitation and then returned back into the wild.

Update - 24th May 2018 : Enys along with Dewgong, Zacky, Winston, Lucy and Alpha, were released back into the wild on 21st May 2018 at Porthtowan beach.

Update - 1st July 2018 : Enys was spotted at local haul-outs along the north coast of Cornwall and Devon by members of the Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust (CSGRT) and British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) on the 25th and 30th June 2018.

Members of the CSGRT and BDMLR volunteer hundreds of hours of their own time to photo, identify and watch over the seals around the Cornish coast.
Enys Update - 3rd July 2018 : Enys was re-rescued after being found on the beach at Westward Ho on 1st July 2018.

She had a deep wound to the left side of her neck, as the beach was busy, the local lifeguards took the seal to a safe location and contacted BDMLR, medics Alex Bond and Becky Melville collected the pup and took her to an overnight care area, Enys was taken to Gweek the next day. Enys is now in the safe hands of the Animal Care with lots of TLC.

Update - 9th September 2018 : Enys has completed his rehabilitation and was released back into the wild on 7th September 2018 along with another rescued seal Jonesy at Porthtowan. His release weight was 39.5kgs.
