As there were lots of people, some with dogs on the beach, a decision was made to take the pup back to the Seal Rescue Hospital.
At the seal rescue hospital, Nathaniel, a member of the Animal Care Team, carried out a full assessment of the pup and tube fed Darth Vader with rehydration fluids. Darth Vader
Darth Vader Unfortunately the pup is a little underweight (14.5kgs) and will be fed on fish soup for the next couple of days before introducing whole herring into his diet.

This oily fish will allow him to put on the weight he needs before joining the seals in the main pool.
