Bolt was rescued on 27th December 2014
As the hospital was full with rescued pups, the pup was brought to the back of seal sanctuary´s hospital car park where the Paul Riley, the local vet from Head & Head in Helston, checked and assessed the seal with the assistance of Amy, Dan and Tamara, members of the Animal Care Team. Bolt
Bolt The pup was found to have a wheezy chest, weighed 18kgs and the temperature had been reduced to 39.2°C.

The pup was taken to a seal pup holding facility which is about 30 minutes drive from the Seal Sanctuary until a pen was available in the hospital.

Unfortunately on 31st December 2014, as there was still no available pen at the seal sanctuary, a decision was made for the pup to be transported to the RSPCA´s facilities at West Hatch.

Update - 20th April 2015 : Bolt had successfully completed his rehabilitation and was returned to wild on 27th March 2015 at Coombe Martin. His release weight was 52kgs.
