Weekly News Update w/e 4th January 2008
It was a quiet this week for our residents but the Animal Care Team, as always, have been kept busy by the rescued seal pups.
We now have some work experience places available during February and March 2008. If you are interested, please contact us via email.
Convalescent Pool

Our rescued seal pups - Mina, Hocken, Kitto, Digory, Nessa, Fenna (photo right), Twister and Scrabble are all doing well in the convalescent pool. They are all putting on weight and expected to be weighed on Wednesday 9th January 2008 to see if any of the rescued seal pups are close to release weight. Mina had an infection in her left eye, with a course of antibiotics, this has cleared up.

Samson and Gryffin are expected to be weighed on Wednesday 9th January and if they have reached their target weight, they will be moved in to the convalescent pool.

Tegan has nearly moulted all his white coat just has a little bit left on rear and flippers.
Dewy (photo right) is now self feeding and receiving eye treatment but otherwise is in good health. Hannibal is receiving eye drops for his ulcer but is otherwise in good health. Wella is now in salt water to allow his wound to continue to heal, following the removal of the tip of his rear digit.
