Groot was rescued on 18th November 2014
Groot, 6 week old male grey seal pup, was rescued on the 18th November 2014 at St Ives harbour by Tim Bain and Dave Jarvis members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

He was found to be severely malnourished, dehydrated and weighing only 13kgs.

Update - 30th November 2014 : Groot has finished his precautionary course of antibiotics and is currently feeding for himself although he is quite a messy eater! He is currently in one of the hospital pens with the pool filled so he can learn to feed in the water. Hopefully Groot will be down in the outside nursery pool soon!
Groot - Photo taken on 28th December 2014 Update - 1st January 2015 : Groot is now in the convalescent pool and learning how to compete for fish with the other rescued seal pups and the resident seals.

His flipper tag number is 052 (yellow).
Update - 14th February 2015 : Groot was released back into the wild along with Phoenix, Gamora, Jubilee, Daffy and St Eia on 12th February 2015 at Gwithian.
