GANNEL was rescued on 30th March 2005
Gannel, rescued seal pup - Photo taken by Dan JarvisGannel was rescued from Newquay on 30th March 2005 and had netting caught around his neck, he is also a little wheeze. He is 3 months old and weighs 22.5kg; he is self feeding and is on a course of antibiotics, iron and multi-vitamins.

Gannel also had a bad worm burden which he is having treatment for.

Update 8th July 2005 - Gannel along with Bubbles were released early on the morning of 6th July 2005 near St Agnes on the north coast. Gannel went straight into the sea but Bubbles took a little encouragement but eventually took the plunge.
