Einstein arrived on 25th June 2009
Einstein, a male common seal pup, was rescued from Snettisham beach on 25th June 2009 weighing 13kg on arrival. He was thought to be about 2 weeks old when rescued. Rescued as he was found on his own with no signs of his mother.

Upon arrival Einstein was given a liquid drink which is full of vitamins which is designed to re-hydrate him. This is very important to do as a rescued seal may not have had any milk from its mother for quite some time and may be dehydrated upon arrival.
Einstein
Einstein After 24 hours Einstein was then given his first milk feed - this is a special milk formula which provides the young pups with all the nutrients they would normally get from their mothers milk.

He was then gradually weaned off his milk over the next week and now he is eating whole fish by hand!!! He hasn't learnt yet to pick up his own fish and we still have to hand feed him - this is quite normal as he still thinks we are his 'MUM!!'
Einstein is quite a laid back little chap, who takes everything in his stride, and already loves his fish dinners!!
Update: 17th September 2009 - Einstein has been moved out of the Seal Rescue Centre on 2nd September 2009 and into the seal pool.
He loves splashing around with the other seals in the pool and he now weighs over 20kg.

Update: 30th November 2009 - Einstein along with the other 2 rescued pups, Flipper and Lassie, are all fine and ready to be released back into the wild shortly.
