Dynamite was rescued on 11th January 2012
Dynamite was rescued by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Team on the 11th January 2012 from Porthgwidden beach at St Ives, weighing 15kg and malnourished. This pup was taken to the RSPCA´s West Hatch Wildlife Centre in Somerset for treatment.

He was transferred to the National Seal Sanctuary on Tuesday 20th March 2012 for his next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with other seals and then finally being released back into the wild.

Dynamite´s flipper tag number is 80048 (orange).

Update: 24th April 2012 - Dynamite is in the convalescent pool, doing really well and putting on weight. The rescued pups are enjoying the piggy back rides around the pool with the resident seals, but it is going to be a few more weeks before any pups are ready for release back to the wild.

Update: 30th May 2012 - Dynamite is currently in the nursery pool.
