Deadly Nightshade, Scarlet, Snowdrop and Triffid
arrived on 20th December 2009

Snowdrop (orange flipper tag number 80006) a little girl rescued on the 7th November 2009 from Westward HO! in Devon, she was a little whitecoat who had been abandoned by her mother malnourished weighing only
13 kilos and had a few wounds
to her flippers.

Update: 24th January 2010 - Snowdrop now weighs 28kg.

Update: 24th April 2010 - Snowdrop was released back to the wild on 13th April 2010 at Gwithian.

Update: 6th November 2011 - Snowdrop was spotted at a local haul-out along the north coast of Cornwall on 19th March 2011, 13th May 2011, 30th June 2011, 2nd July 2011, 5th September 2011 and 5th November 2011 by members of the
Cornwall Seal Group.
Scarlet (orange flipper tag number 80001) a little girl rescued on the
11th November 2009
from Perranporth, she had wounds to her body and weighed only 17 kilos and was around 4 weeks old.

Update: 24th January 2010 - Scarlet now weighs 31kg.

Update: 1st March 2010 - Scarlet was released back into the wild on 18th February 2010 at Porthtowan.

Update: 20th September 2011 - Scarlet was spotted at a local haul-out along the north coast of Cornwall on 24th January 2011, 19th & 21st February 2011, 12th September 2011 and
19th September 2011 by members of the
Cornwall Seal Group.
Deadly Nightshade (orange flipper tag number 80002) also a little girl rescued on the
15th November 2009
from Gwithian near Hayle, she was a post moult pup at around 6 weeks old, malnourished weighing only 15 kilos and wounds to flipper, body and mouth.

Update: 24th January 2010 - Deadly Nightshade
was released
back into the wild on
22nd January 2010.

Triffid (orange flipper tag number 80005) is a little boy and was rescued on the 16th November 2009 from Padstow. He is post moult around 6 weeks old, was rescue due to malnourishment weighing only 15 kilos,
wounds that were infected
and a slight cough.

Update: 24th January 2010 - Triffid now weighs 36kg.

Update: 1st March 2010 -
Triffid was released
back into the wild
on 18th February 2010
at Porthtowan.

Update: 13th September 2011 - Triffid was spotted at a local haul-out along the north coast of Cornwall on 24th & 29th September 2010, 19th February 2011, 27th February 2011, 17th March 2011, 28th August 2011 and 5th September 2011 by members of the
Cornwall Seal Group.
These pups were rescued by members of the BDMLR team and taken to the RSPCA´s West Hatch Wildlife Centre for treatment during November/December 2009. The pups were transferred to the National Seal Sanctuary on Sunday 20th December 2009 for their next stage of rehabilitation and to learn to compete for fish with other seals and
then finally being released back into the wild.

RSPCA have chosen to name their pups after wild flowers and plants this year.
