| DORY - Rescued on 11th November 2006 |
| On Saturday 11th of November 2006, the sanctuary received a call about a pup at Towan Beach at Newquay. The team were busy looking after the pups in the hospital, and so call the BDMLR who went out on our behalf. They found the pup on the beach by the harbour wall, and after calling the Sanctuary, the Animal Care Team made the decision to bring it back to Gweek. |
![]() | On arriving back at the Sanctuary, the pup was put into isolation 3 and a clinical given. The pup weighed 13.5 kilos and was malnourished with lots of wounds to flippers and body. All the wounds were cleaned and treated with an antibiotic spray. It was also given it’s first lot of fluids, and we estimate the pup to be around 5 weeks old, it will be given fish after 24 hours. The pup is a little girl and has been named Dory. |
